As with previous projects, the client had recently purchased a family home in a poor state of repair with a view to extending into the loft and extending the kitchen at the rear. A timber garage to the side of the house provided 11.04 with an opportunity to conceal a sizeableside extension to provide an additional utility room, wet-room, and home office. The house was located in a Conservation Area with a critical local conservation advisory group making
the design all the more challenging.
11.04 were able to negotiate a successful approval and it is estimated an added value of circa £500,000 to the value of the house.
The façade was clad in 1930’s suburban mock-Tudor cladding, recently painted grey. The original black and white colour scheme was reintroduced, the roof re-clad, and new traditional lead clad dormer windows introduced to the loft extension.
