11.04 employ creativity to catalyze cultural change – beginning in Manchester in 1991 with “In The City”, Europe’s largest Urban Festival of Music and Conference which ran for over 15 years. Chris Roche approached Manchester City Council to launch an International Music Festival and subsequently developed a major international event with Factory Records CEO Anthony Wilson. It put the international spotlight on Manchester and led to tens of millions of income over a 15-year period, leading to the discovery of countless unsigned bands, including Elbow. Other proposals have included a “World Cup Museum” at Wembley Stadium, to assist England’s bid for the 2016 World Cup; a “Museum of Blackpool Illuminations” to provide a year-round tourist attraction for a Northern Seaside Town; and a “Museum for the Acropolis”, an international ideas competition to house the returned “Elgin Marbles”. 11.04’s submission was one of a select number exhibited at the Royal College of Art, at an event sponsored by the Greek Government. It was also published over 2 pages in Building Design Magazine.

More recently 11.04 have designed a “Far-East Prisoner of War Monument”, dedicated to the soldiers and civilians who built the notorious “Bridge over the River Kwai”. The monument was sponsored by 11.04’s client the Camden New Journal Newspaper, and is built in Morning Crescent.
